MR·FOODPROGRAMMER

// About Me

Food is not another checkbox.

I believe food can make an ordinary day feel more special. Not because every meal needs to be fancy, but because cooking and eating together can be one of the best parts of a busy life.

I am Thiago Temple, the cook behind Mr. Food Programmer. By day, I am a software engineer; by dinner time, weekends, and especially Sundays, I am usually cooking for my family of five. I am a self-taught home cook, born and raised in Brazil, with an endless curiosity about the food, techniques and stories of kitchens around the world.

This is a place to learn in public: to try new cuisines, test techniques, make mistakes and share what actually works in a real family kitchen. Some recipes become staples. Some do not. Both are part of the fun.

Most days, that means practical dinners shaped by work, family schedules, leftovers and hungry people. Other days, dinner becomes a project: something slow on the smoker, a pizza from the oven, or a dish that sends me down a new rabbit hole. There is room for both.

Food is personal for me, too. I have type 1 diabetes, so I pay attention to ingredients and cook at home often. I want meals that support my health and work for my family without making dinner feel like a compromise.

If you love good food, want to cook a little better, and do not want cooking to become one more burden, you are in the right place. We will make a mess, learn something and hopefully give tonight a reason to linger at the table a little longer.
